Set up Oberrank Agent Skills

Add Oberrank skill files to your AI agent after connecting Oberrank MCP.

Oberrank Agent Skills are separate files from Oberrank MCP.

On Claude Code, skip the steps below and use the Oberrank plugin instead. It installs MCP and every skill in one step. On Codex CLI, use the Oberrank plugin the same way.

First, set up Oberrank MCP. MCP gives your agent access to Oberrank data.

Then add the Oberrank SKILL.md files you want your agent to use. Each skill gives your agent one SEO workflow.

Download the skill files

Open Agent setup in Oberrank and download the skills you want.

Each skill is one folder holding a SKILL.md and its supporting files. Keep the folder intact: an agent needs the whole thing, not just the markdown file.

Copy them into your agent

Every agent keeps skills in its own directory. Pick the block that matches yours and add one folder per skill.

Claude Code, available in every project on this machine:

Claude Code, available only inside one repository:

Codex:

Claude web and desktop manage custom skills under Customize, then Skills, where you upload the folder instead of copying it to disk.

If you are not sure where your agent keeps skills, check its own documentation. The pattern is the same almost everywhere: a skills directory where each subfolder is named after its skill.

Replace seo-audit in the commands above with each other skill you downloaded. Copying a folder twice is harmless, so re-running a command will not break anything.

Update installed skills

Skills change independently of the MCP connection, so a connected agent can still be running an older workflow. When Oberrank ships an improved skill, download the new folder and replace the copy in your agent's skills directory, including its supporting files.

Preserve any personal edits you made to a SKILL.md before replacing it. The update prompt does this for you and explains how each installation was set up.

Run a skill

After the skill files are available to your agent, run the matching slash command:

  • /local-seo
  • /seo-audit
